As Chairman of The National Kidney Foundation (NKF), Mr Ang brings a long-term, principle-driven mindset to shaping the future of kidney care in Singapore. Under his leadership, NKF is advancing its bold Future Forward 2030 strategy, which focuses on prevention and breaking the cycle of kidney disease, while also expanding access to transplantation and improving outcomes for patients with kidney failure.
Over the last two decades, he has served with numerous charities at the board level. This includes being the Vice-President of the Singapore Chess Federation, the national body for the sport of chess; Chairman of SATA CommHealth, a charity operating medical centres, home care and telehealth services; Chairman of Credit Counselling Singapore, a charity helping those in debt distress; and Vice-President of the Securities Investors Association (Singapore), the main retail investor body in Singapore championing the rights of retail investors as well as providing investor education.
His contributions to the charity sector include chairing the latest Review Sub-Committee of the Code of Governance for Charities and IPCs which charities in Singapore are encouraged to adopt. The new code was issued by the Charity Council in 2023.
