Professor Chan is the Senior Associate Dean & Co-Director, Academic Medicine Education Institute of Duke-NUS Medical School, as well as the Group Chief Education Officer (GCEDO), SingHealth.
Prof Chan was the President of the College of Physicians Singapore from 2015 to 2019. He is the Royal College of Physician London International Advisor for Singapore. He is also a member of the Singapore Medical Council representing Duke-NUS Medical School, member of the Specialist Accreditation Board and Chairman of the Residency Advisory Committee for Renal Medicine. He is also a Senior Consultant in Department of Renal, Singapore General Hospital.
He is a passionate educator and is involved in teaching medical students from the 3 medical schools and continue to provide guidance and teaching to the medical officers, junior IM residents and senior residents of the Renal Medicine Residency Program.
Prof Chan has served as a Board Member of The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) since 2017. He was previously with the NKF Research Committee from 2007 to 2020, as well as the NKF Medical Advisory Committee from 2008 to 2019.
