At just 20 years old, Ms Jaime Zheng’s life took an unexpected and challenging turn.
A sudden illness caused by a virus attacked her kidneys, leaving her weak, vulnerable, and scared. One day, Jaime collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. What followed was a difficult journey filled with hospital stays, uncertainty, and emotional pain.
With her health in constant flux, Jaime struggled with feelings of helplessness and isolation. The emotional weight often felt overwhelming. But she didn’t give up.
Supported by the unwavering love of her mother and aunty, her greatest source of strength who would often say, “Don’t worry, be strong”, Jaime found the courage to keep going.
Thanks to the dedicated care from The National Kidney Foundation, Jaime slowly rebuilt her life. She learned to accept her condition and embrace each day with gratitude. “Dialysis is part of my life now,” Jaime shares with a quiet smile. “I accept it, stay strong, and focus on what I have.”
