Ms Tham’s career in cybersecurity spans more than 20 years, during which she has led major cyber businesses in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region. Early in her career, she held senior positions at IBM as the ASEAN region Security Practice Leader and at BT Frontline (a British Telecom subsidiary) as Vice President for cybersecurity services across Asia. She also had a role at Netrust, one of Singapore’s pioneering digital security firms.
In 2012, Ms Tham founded Accel Systems & Technologies (Accel), a cybersecurity systems integrator, where she served as Chief Executive Officer. Under her leadership, Accel built a strong track record in delivering cybersecurity solutions. The company’s success led to its acquisition by StarHub Ltd in 2017. Accel was later integrated into a new joint venture cybersecurity firm, Ensign InfoSecurity, in 2018.
After Accel’s integration, Ms Tham became part of Ensign InfoSecurity’s founding team. Ensign InfoSecurity is a joint venture between Singapore’s Temasek Holdings and StarHub. Ms Tham initially served as Executive Vice President of Ensign, overseeing its enterprise services portfolio. In September 2019, she was appointed the Group Chief Executive Officer of Ensign InfoSecurity, succeeding the interim CEO. As Group CEO, she steered Ensign’s strategic direction and regional expansion for several years. Under her tenure, Ensign grew to be recognized as Asia’s largest pure-play cybersecurity service provider. In Dec 2024, Ms Tham stepped off the CEO role.
Presently, Ms Tham serves as an Advisor in Simplifynext, a technology consulting firm specialising in agentic AI, hyper-automation and new-gen apps. She is a Board member with the Singapore Institute of Technology, Mediacorp, iFAST Corporation and the Charity Council.
