Swing For Hope: NKF Charity Golf 2023 was held on 11 August, Friday at Tanah Merah Country Club, Tampines Course with Professor S. Jayakumar, former Deputy Prime Minister and Senior Minister as our Guest of Honour.
Our heartfelt gratitude to all our golfers, sponsors, donors and partners who supported us in many ways. Through the collective generosity of all who gave, we managed to raise over $820,000!
Your kindness and generosity are beacons of light and hope for our patients, who rely on financial support to sustain their dialysis journey for life. This inspires them towards self-empowered living, leading to a better quality of life. Together, we can create a ripple of change to impact the health of the community, and stem the tide of this impending kidney tsunami.
Swing For Hope: NKF Charity Golf is back for the third year running! Get your clubs ready for a full day of exciting golf, which will be held at Tanah Merah Country Club, Tampines Course. This year, we are privileged to have Professor S. Jayakumar, former Deputy Prime Minister and Senior Minister as our esteemed Guest-of-Honour to grace this event.
Presently, more than 300,000 people in Singapore suffer from chronic kidney disease, and many more remain undiagnosed because symptoms remain silent until the final stages. Every day, about 6 people are diagnosed with kidney failure, with most patients requiring lifelong dialysis to sustain their lives. Without subsidy, haemodialysis treatments can set a patient back more than $2,000 a month. As the number of new cases continues to rise with no signs of slowing, a “kidney tsunami” is imminent.
Through Swing For Hope, we aim to raise $600,000 to support kidney failure patients in need and alleviate their financial burden. At the same time, we hope to stem the tide of the impending “kidney tsunami” by raising greater awareness of kidney health, and inspire all to lead and advocate a healthier lifestyle.
