In Singapore, more than 300,000 people suffer from it, and many more remain unaware of their condition, as Chronic Kidney Disease often goes unnoticed until obvious symptoms show up in later stages.
Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure. About 6 people are diagnosed with kidney failure every day.
Kidney failure is irreversible. Patients have to depend on life-long, recurring dialysis 3 times a week, 4 hours each session in order to sustain their lives.
Sugary drinks can increase the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. Join us in NKF’s 7-day No Sugary Drink Challenge! Journey with us towards a healthier lifestyle, be an advocate for kidney health and invite others to join you on your new mission!
