The World Kidney Day (WKD) Nursing Symposium is jointly organised by the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), the Singapore Society of Nephrology (SSN) – Nursing Chapter and the Singapore Nurses Association (SNA) – Renal Chapter to commemorate the annual World Kidney Day.
The theme for WKD 2017 is “Kidney Disease and Obesity”. Obesity has both a direct and indirect impact on kidney disease. It increases the risk of kidney disease as well as developing other chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. Fortunately, obesity is largely preventable.
In this symposium, we will be discussing the association between obesity and kidney disease, as well as the possible measures to prevent obesity.
