Volunteer Programmes

Befriending Sessions in Dialysis Centres
As a befriender, you can brighten a patient’s day through a friendly chat, listening ear or simply by keeping them company. No special skills needed to make a meaningful difference!
Programme Details:
Mondays to Saturdays
  • 8.00AM to 10.00AM
  • 1.00PM to 3.00PM
  • 6.30PM to 8.30PM
Venue: Various NKF Dialysis Centres. Click here to view.
Capacity: Up to 10 volunteers per session*
Please note:
  • Session timings and capacity vary by centre.
  • Befriending sessions for the same patient shift should be at least two weeks apart.
  • A minimum of 4 volunteers is required for the session to proceed. If insufficient volunteers register, you may be invited to join an existing group.

Patients’ Day Out

Patient Escort
For patients without family members to accompany them, attending medical appointments alone can be challenging. Your companionship can make their hospital visits easier and less stressful.
As a Medical Patient Escort volunteer, you will:
  • Pick up patients from home and accompany them to the hospital.
  • Help them navigate the hospital and locate clinics.
  • Provide companionship and support during appointments.
  • Accompany them home after their appointments.
Notes:
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Volunteers with their own vehicles are preferred but not required.
  • Assignment dates and times depend on patients’ appointment schedules.

Help provide our patients with a clean and comfortable living environment with your hearts and hands now!

  • Programme is on a case referral basis
  • Date and time of sessions are dependent on patients’ health condition and availability

Administrative Support
Support NKF’s day-to-day operations by assisting our team with essential administrative tasks, helping us better serve kidney failure patients and their families.
Volunteers may assist with:
  • Data entry and filing
  • Preparing materials and documents
  • Answering calls and administrative support
  • Other assigned tasks
Volunteer Details:
Monday to Friday (excl. Public Holidays)
9.00AM–12.00PM or 2.00PM–5.00PM

Requirements:
  • Aged 16 and above.
  • Volunteers may serve on an ad-hoc or regular basis, depending on their availability. No experience is required, as training and guidance will be provided by NKF staff.
